I HAVE RETURNED.

Well hey there.

So, my cruise was awesome.

I've been writing (a little) and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from being away from the Internet (okay, not really...)

Anyway, as I go through this post, there will be a couple pictures, but not many, seeing as most of the ones I took were of the people I met while I was away.

But, to start, the single most amazing pair of shoes I have ever, and will ever see in my life.

Yes, they're Harley Quinn shoes. And, yes, they're frikkin' awesome. It's kinda hard to tell from the pictures, but the laces have playing card suits on them. I want these shoes.

Scratch that, I need these shoes. I mean, look at them. Just look.

Anyway, I'm back from my holiday, and this is my holiday post. Now... Highlights of my trip...

Hmm...

Well, the ship stopped in Noumea, which was... Nearly no fun for me, because at the time I was on crutches.

Oh yeah, that reminds me, on the first full day of the cruise, I was at a party in the Teen Club and I tripped and twisted my ankle.

But, anyway, cause I was on crutches, I couldn't really go anywhere, because the crutches were practically causing as much pain as walking normally would've. I may be exaggerating a little, BUT IT REALLY HURT. I went to the Aquarium, saw the Crown of Thorns, spent five minutes watching it move while pointing at it and saying 'Who's destroying the Great Barrier Reef? You are! Yes you are!'

...

I like starfish.

The next stop was Mystery Island, which is where I got things for my friends, and a shark-tooth necklace for myself, which I haven't taken off since.

After that was Luganville, which I didn't get off the boat for, simply because I was about to leave when a Kiwi kid from Teen Club walked up to me and said;

"I just got back, I took a taxi to town, drank a dodgy Sprite and walked all the way back. It's terrible."

So I stayed on the ship.

(Side note: Did you know that when Kiwi's say 'deck' they pronounce it like 'dick'? I have earned endless enjoyment from this discovery.)

The next stop was Champagne Bay, which I swear is the most beautiful beach I've been to in my life.

I got a coconut there, and I drank some of it.

... Don't drink it.

Just don't drink it.

The rest of my time was spent staying up obscenely late and talking to the other teens I meet on the boat.

Some stand out ship-board moments would be...

Oh, I remember one.

There was this room called the Centrum that spans through seven or so Decks, and it has two glass lifts. The carols service was held in this room, which has some stairs between the two lifts that lead from the fourth deck to the fifth one. The crew stood on those stairs while they sang the carols.

Anyway, my small-ish group within the Teen Club decided to watch the carols, but about halfway through, four of the boys got bored.

You guys know the part of Gangam Style where the lift doors open and there's a guy gyrating over PSY?

They did that. They went up, they came down, they stopped at the floor the rest of us were on, we saw a security guard coming up behind them, ran around the entire boat and then they went and did it again.

And, if I had gotten the DVD, it would have that on film.

Another time I was talking to a guy about L4D and another guy (who was directly involved in the carols service escapade) had taken a third boy's navy hoodie and then proceeded to tackle me.

It was kinda funny.

...

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Oh, one last thing, the boy who the hoodie belonged to has promised to read SP. Hellz yeah.

And that's the view from the front of the ship.

Merry Christmas, Guys!

Okay, this is my official Christmas blog post, people!

I leave in five hours and twenty minutes for my ten day long cruise, and BOY am I excited! I mean, a boat! I love boats! Boats are good! But boats also lead to consequent swimming, and further consequent beaches. Yurgh.

But, moving on, I do have a writing project, but you don't get to see that...

*evil laugh*

Anyway, on the night before last, equipped with my sonic screwdriver, I went to the Sydney Opera House to see the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular!!! With Alex Kingston and Mark Williams as MCs! Yes, that's right, I've been in the same room as Alex Kingston and Mark Williams. Booyah. They played music from seasons five, six and seven of the new Doctor Who, with a special piece from the fourth season which was played to each of the ten Regenerations! They also played the Freedom Song which- Shh, Spoilers- Is what played when all of them were together flying the TARDIS right before Donna... You know...

And, as soon as I figured out what it was, made me cry. I haven't cried like that since Dumbledore died in Half-Blood Prince.

They played it out with the theme song (SO GOOD) and, of course, the person who yelled "YOWZA!" when Alex Kingston came out was sitting in my row, three seats over. I don't know him, I really don't.

So, as my mum pesters me to 'get off that damn laptop', I wish you guys a very Merry Christmas (no references here), and a Happy New Year.

And, a song:

Seasons Greetings, guys!

New World, Remember That?

I hope you do remember it, because- Merry Christmas- HERE IT IS!!

People used to make fun of it. How prepared we were. Or how prepared we thought we were. Very few made it beyond the first hour, less alive at the end of the day and almost none at the end of the week. Teenagers, it would seem, are not as expert as they hoped they were on the topic, mainly because a vast majority of us cannot wield a gun. We had whole discussions on what we would do, but no one managed to factor in that the lack of any fighting training would probably cause their death. I was lucky, to say the very least. I picked, very possibly, the best day to skip school. There were seven of us then. Three boys, four girls. Ross, Cody, Hugo, Naomi, Kaley, Lia and me. We’d been planning it for a few weeks. I started… It started with Cody, at lunch. He was talking about how he’d kill for a break.
‘Cody, you couldn’t kill someone.’ Lia teased.
‘I could. If you offered me a day off for it.’
‘Cody, I don’t think I’ve even seen you kill an ant, you wouldn’t kill a person.’ Ross pointed out.
‘So?’ Cody said. We all laughed and then Hugo spoke up.
‘We do deserve a break though. We could just-‘
‘Skip!’ Naomi interrupted.
‘So, wait, that’s, Hugo, Naomi and me in. Who else?’ Cody asked.
‘I would like to go, but Cody, it isn’t ‘Hugo, Naomi and me’, it’s ‘Hugo, Naomi and I’, just to let you know.’ Kaley pointed out. Cody stuck out his tongue. Ross drew his attention away from trying to figure out what kind of meat was in his sandwich.
‘If there’s a day of school to be missed, I fully intend to miss it.’
‘I’ll go.’ Lia said. Everyone looked at me.
‘Well, I’m sure someone’ll turn up at my doorstep as I leave to go to school, so it sounds like I’m skipping.’

That was how it started. Just the seven of us, skipping school. One of the teachers probably would’ve noticed, if, you know, they hadn’t died. I left the house that morning, a week and a half ago, like any other day. You don't tell your parents you're skipping. I walked out onto the street, to promptly be thrown to the ground by Ross. I remember looking up at him and scowling.
'Why are you laying around, lazy bones?' he had asked, smirking. I stood up and brushed myself off.
‘I just got attacked by an ape, that’s all.’ I smiled as the cogs in Ross’s head turned. Before he could say anything, I started to walk in the direction of the park, the place we had agreed to meet.
‘Hey!’ Ross yelled, running after me. We’d been neighbors for over a decade and he certainly knew me well enough to know I wasn’t going to wait for him. I turned down a small alley and listened to him splash up next to me. It had rained the previous night, and at the time we thought the rain was going to let up a little. It wasn’t. It started to rain when I was half way down the alley, and it started hard. I sprinted down the alley, took a left, and ran across the park under the gazebo, Ross speeding along behind me. I stopped when I was fully shielded from the rain, and leaned against the side of the structure to catch my breath. Ross tripped up the steps onto the gazebo and fell across the floor.
‘Real smooth.’ I said, chuckling. He turned his head to face me and scowled.
‘I didn’t trip. I was testing if gravity still worked. Incidentally, it does.’ He stood and tried to see through the rain.
‘Where are the others?’ he asked. I shrugged.
‘We all live different distances from here, and the others are closer to school than us. Meaning they would leave later so as not to arouse suspicion.’
‘I guess. Do you think they’ll be here soon?’
‘They should all be here by nine.’ I checked my phone. ‘That’s in twenty minutes.’
‘Ugh.’
‘Oh, be patient for once. What do you think we’re gonna do today?’
‘Dunno. I think Hugo and Naomi are deciding.’ He said, climbing onto the railing so he could reach out and touch the rain. I groaned.
‘That means we’ll probably be seeing some sort of romance movie… I refuse to let today turn into a date for them.’
‘Hell, we’ll go somewhere and they can hide and make out in a corner. Maybe that abandoned theme park.’
‘Why would you want to go to that creepy place?’
‘Old. Rusted.’ He jumped down and loomed over me. ‘Dangerous.’ I pushed him away.
‘Shove off, you’re talking as though ghosts are real or something.’
‘Got a better idea of somewhere to go?’
‘Not exactly.’
‘Then we go exploring. Look, here’s Kaley.’ Ross said, pointing through the rain. A drenched Kaley ran under the shelter and swore loudly.
‘Damn this rain!’ she cursed. Ross sniggered.
‘I didn’t think you were one to swear.’ He said. Kaley gave him a look that could make paint peel. Ross apologized and backed up. Kaley smiled bitterly and looked at me.
‘If it rains like this all day, we might as well go to school.’ She grumbled.
‘Don’t say that!’ I replied, ‘Today can still be good!’
‘How?’ she asked. Ross proceeded to tell her the plans that had been made. Kaley looked doubtful.
‘Maybe if someone brings an umbrella…’ right as she said that, Cody came into the gazebo, through the rain under an umbrella.
‘Like this?’ he asked. He tossed two more umbrellas into the center of the dry, gazebo floor. I laugh. Natural Cody, always prepared. Ross told him the plans and he kept looking through the rain. Cody joined him.
‘Look, there’s Lia.’ He said. Lia ran up the steps, holding her jacket over her head. We told her everything and then Naomi and Hugo waltzed up, sharing an umbrella. I remember them being really angry when we’d made plans without them, but they dealt with it. Not that it matters now.

We all walked to the theme park, which took about an hour, and the rain let up a little on the way. Hugo and Naomi vanished shortly after, and little did we know, that those casual goodbyes we had made, teasing things, would b the last things we ever said to the pair. The five of us walked off to look at the ruins of the theme park. Ross was messing around, as usual and we encouraged him, as always. And we all stopped dead when we heard a scream.
‘What was that?’ Kaley asked. I looked back the way we came.
‘It sounded like… Naomi.’ I shivered. We heard a moan to follow it, and Ross practically fell over laughing.
‘God, you’d think it was zombies or something!’ he cried. ‘They probably got attacked by an old robot or something.’ He then performed a sort of half shamble- half rigid walk, imitating a zombie robot, or something. I remember, at the time there was one of those old picture stands, you know, you stick your head in the whole and it gets attached to a cartoon body. Anyway, one of those stands just behind him, off to the side a little. A gurgle and a groan shuddered from behind the structure, but Ross had been to engrossed in his shuffle to notice. But he did notice when the bullet whizzed behind his head. The bullet hit something behind the stand and there was a soft thump. We ignored that, at the time, and looked in the direction the bullet had come from, to see a lanky figure with long, messy brown hair and a sad attempt at a beard on his chin.
‘Tim!?’ Ross shouted, ‘Why did you shoot at me?’
‘I wasn’t shooting at you.’ He was already walking away again.
‘Yes you were! You practically missed by a hairs breadth!’ Ross said, stumbling after him.
‘If I was shooting at you, you’d be dead.’ Tim said. It started to sprinkle just as we ran after them. Tim rounded a corner and cut through an old ring toss game.
‘Wait, what about Hugo and Naomi?’ Lia blurted, stopping for a second. Tim, a few metres ahead of us still didn’t stop.
‘Your friends are dead.’ He said. We all halted.
‘What?’ Cody asked. Tim was gone. We all sprinted to catch up with him and we found him leaning against a doorframe.
‘In.’ He said. He ushered us in to the room and shut the door behind him, and then barricaded it. Ross backed up against the far wall in mock horror.
‘Rape! Raaaape!’ he shouted. Kaley hit him upside the head.
‘Behave.’ She said. Ross scowled at her and folded his arms.
‘Tim, what are you doing here?’ Cody asked.

Tim was two years ahead of us at school. He’d left the previous year. I’m surprised he knew our names, to be honest. The room that we were standing in was bizarre, notes and nuts and bolts and tools were all over the place. There was a corridor that we would soon learn lead to a whole bunch of new rooms. A kitchen, a bathroom other standard facilities. It was like he’d been waiting for us. And at the end of that corridor, was Tim’s own little armory. Anyway, Tim finished his story and Lia nodded, then frowned.
‘Um, that’s all nice and happy, but what do you mean by Hugo and Naomi are dead?’ Lia asked.
‘I mean that they’re dead. What’s not to get?’ Tim replied. We shared a look.
‘But… They can’t be dead.’ Kaley said, taking a tentative step towards Tim.
‘Yes they can. They are, too. Well, sort of. They’re dead and moving.’
‘What?’ Cody spluttered.
‘Animated dead.’ Tim said.
‘What?’ Cody repeated. Tim sighed angrily.
‘Christ, aren’t you teenagers? Don’t you know a zombie apocalypse when you see it?’
‘Zombies? There aren’t any zombies. Not that I could see.’ Ross muttered. Tim arched an eyebrow.
‘Well, you weren’t looking. You almost got nailed by one. I saved your ass earlier.’
‘You almost killed me earlier.’
‘Even if it were feasible for me to miss my target, you would’ve preferred I got you than the zombie.’
‘I think you’re mis-‘ Ross started.
‘Stop talking about zombies so blatantly, Tim. If this is happening, and the world has ended as we know it, there’s no point in starting fights. You shot somewhere near Ross, and he’s spooked. Acknowledge the fact that you shot very near to the spot he was standing in, and he has the right to be angry.’ I said. At this point I had sat on a desk on one side of the room, and I was gripping the edges. Lia and Cody half jumped, as if they’d forgotten I was in the room. Ross folded his arms defiantly and nodded in agreement. Tim shrugged.
‘Alright. Fair enough. Sorry, Ross.’ He said. ‘I need to go check something. Stay here. Actually, you can explore a little, but if you touch that door,’ he pointed at the door we came in by, ‘You’re zombie meat.’ He left the room through the corridor, and we all shared another look.
‘Well. He’s nuts.’ Cody said.

The thing that happened next very possibly qualifies as the scariest moment of my entire life. You’d think, considering how safe I was, I’d find the several moments in the following days where I almost died scarier, but no. It was then. This was the moment when it all started for real. Lia had left the room to find a bathroom and the four of us, company I would grow very used to, were doing our own little things. Ross was looking out through the small, barred window in the entrance door, Cody was sorting through his rucksack and Kaley had approached me.
‘So. You think this could actually be zombies?’ she asked.
‘Nope.’ I said frankly. She had opened her mouth to start a new sentence when Ross chimed into our conversation.
‘Look at this.’ He said. I remember that really distinctly the way he said it. There was no emotion in his voice, no excitement. It was like he’d died a little saying it. Kaley walked over and gasped.
‘Guys…’ she said. Cody waved his hand, signaling that he’d be there in a sec. I lazily walked to door and forced my way past Ross and Kaley to see.
How I wish that I’d never seen what happened next.
How I wish I’d just died with the others.
There was a figure, standing down the end of the hallway. They were slouched, favouring their right side. They shambled into the light and I saw their back. They looked normal, save the clumsy walk and the poor posture. But then they looked back at me. It was a girl- I’m sure- and she would’ve been pretty. She would’ve been beautiful. If she had a jaw.
Or if her body had turned with her head.
I remember her turning properly and stumbling towards the door. I remember screaming and tripping backwards. And, above all else, I can remember the way her hand reached through the bars, searching for me.

Tim rushed into the room to the sound my screams, ready to fight. He relaxed his position when he saw the scene and pulled me to my feet.
‘I don’t have enough patience to be this nice every time you see a zombie.’
‘It surprised me.’ I muttered. He didn’t respond or react and left the room again. I glared at the back of his head as he left the room. Cody was looking at the hand, which was waving madly. I do think it was fair for me to have been spooked, the damn thing tried to eat my face. I scowled at the door, and then looked up at my friends, who were staring at me.
‘Take a picture, it’ll last longer.’ I grunted. Lia stumbled back into the room.
‘Guys, you gotta see-‘ she paused, ‘Why are you on the floor?’
‘It’s comfy.’ I muttered.
‘Really? I mean, it’s concrete and-‘
‘Sarcasm, Lia. I fell.’ I growled, standing up. Lia frowned at me.
‘So, what were you going to show us?’ Cody asked. Lia looked confused for a moment, her train of thought obviously changing tracks, and shook her head.
‘Can’t remember. Ross, are you okay?’ she asked, her voice sounding concerned. I glanced at Ross, who was several shades paler than he normally was.
‘Katie.’ He said, jumping into action. ‘I have to see if she’s okay.’
‘Ross-‘
‘I have to see if she’s okay, Kaley.’ he was about to go find Tim when Tim, timing perfect, walked in.
‘Ross, you seem to misunderstand.’ He points at the hand that was still groping through the door, ‘That is what we call a zombie. There’s that one, trying to eat us, and there are thousands of others shambling around the city. Leaving this room would be like signing your suicide note.’
‘But Katie-‘
‘Is dead. Swallow it and get on with life.’ Tim left again. I glanced at Ross again, wincing. Katie was Ross’s little sister, and he loved her more than anything else on the planet. Lia squeaked suddenly, making everyone look at her.
‘Oh yeah! Follow me!’ she said, leading the way out of the room. We were guided into a small hallway, and for the first time we saw a small kitchen, and a bathroom. And, at the end of the hallway, there was an alarmingly well equipped armory. Cody mumbled something and entered the bathroom. That earned a chuckle from the rest of us. Tim was in the kitchen, packing some sandwiches into a backpack. He had several stuffed backpacks next to that.
‘As soon as I’ve finished packing these bags, we’re taking off.’ Tim said, holding his hand out, ‘Phones, iTouches, and any other devices you wish to keep.’ Kaley arched an eyebrow.
‘You’re shitting me, right? Thirty seconds ago you said it was suicide to leave.’
‘And thirty seconds ago it was. Things happen in that amount of time. For example, I have determined what strand of the virus has been released. My least favourite one, in all honesty.’ Tim said, still holding his hand out. Ross’s eyebrows flew up.
‘Strand, virus, what the hell are you talking about?’
‘After I left school I signed up to be a scientist in an underground company that dealt with Bio-weaponry. I was directly involved in the creation of the Letum-Putro virus, and I have detailed knowledge upon each of it’s strands. For example, if the first strand had detonated, our lives would be a whole lot easier. Though, in the end, this strand- the fifth strand- is better than, say, the third one, which would make the zombie’s flesh basically turn into Kevlar.’ Tim rambled. At that point, Cody had returned from his trip to the toilet and was the only one of us who had understood any of what Tim had just said. Kaley and I shared a look.
What?’ I said, simply. Tim sighed.
‘The virus was contained in a special unit, and it was breached. Call me a coward, but I decided to high-tail it outta there. I was headed for my safe house, here, and I stumbled across you on the way. Sorry, I decided to save your asses and now,‘ he waved his hand, ‘You’re going to give me your phones or whatever and we’re going to go to the back-up compound.’ I pulled out my phone and handed it to him. After a small hesitation, the others did the same. He handed us each a backpack and walked into the armory.
‘Have any of you used firearms before?’ he called.
‘Yup.’ I said back. The others looked at me. ‘Oh, get over it. Dad took me to a shooting range a couple times.’
‘You should’ve taken me!’ Kaley grinned. Tim emerged again and handed me a gun.
‘That, is an AK47. Be careful with it.’ He said. I nodded.

There! Comment! Criticise! Curse! I don't mind! Just commmmmment!!!!!

Serious Matters.

Well, this is going to be a general post on my general views upon the world (in general).

1. I think way too much.
2. I sincerely hope that everyone is well, because things are getting intense EVERYWHERE.
3. Tomorrow is my last day of school.
4. I won't have Internet access from the 18th-28th.
5. I hate school.
6. I LOVE M&M's.
7. I have the best. Friends. Ever.

There's definitely more than that, but I shall take a break between the bullet points and the paragraphs of complaint, rant and possible swearing. So, look at the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E-47VmFopE

MOVING ON.

To all of you who have been following my extremely petty problems over the past 8-10 weeks, I accidentally threw an M&M at her. Yes, it was legitimately, completely accidental. And very funny. Very, very, incredibly funny. I also want to let Echo know, that she is simply the most beautiful human being I have ever come across in my existence. You have stopped me from exploding on FAR too many occasions this term. Which is positively awesome. Seriously, you stopped me from rendering the school auditorium to shreds yesterday. (No, I'm not kidding, I was that mad.) I must admit, it is a true honour to be your friend, and I shall cherish that as much as I can. I really hope that one day I can become half the person you are. I have such a huge amount of respect for you, you'd probably laugh. Which I would consider UNACCEPTABLE!!! (Seven years in the dungeon, no trial (Had to slip it in there :P))

Btw, that post that I made, about the L4D fic? Yeah, ignore it, cause I've decided to write the damn story anyway. So, as another small break, here is a teaser of something that comes in MUCH later during the plot, but is safe to show you.

I hid in the bushes and pushed a branch aside that was obscuring my view. A  blonde guy was sitting in the safe room. An occupied safe room? You’ve got to be joking. Really, seriously, you have got to be kidding me. The safe room looks to be about a forty second sprint from here, but, knowing my luck, anything could happen in that time. I sigh and swing my Hunting Rifle over my back and pull out my Magnum Pistol. I set myself up like a sprinter would’ve at the blocks and breathed silently. I exploded out of the bushes and sprinted for the safe room.
Let me in!’ I yell. The man looks up, frightened. He’s smoking. Idiot.Open the door!’ I shout, starting to run short of breath. He stands and dashes to the door, fumbling with the latch. ‘Now!’ I add. Wait, wait, I can hear something… Growling. Shit. Not now, please, please, not now. The Hunter pounces and lands on me when I’m about twenty metres from the safe room. And still he is fumbling with that godforsaken latch. The Hunter pins me and I lift the pistol, but it bats the gun away, scratching my wrist. It draws a little blood, but I know it’s nothing on what I’m in for.
Hurry it up, blondey!’ I yell. He swears and keeps trying to open the door. The Hunter claws at my stomach, immediately drawing blood.
OW!’ I shout. He swears again and the door finally opens. The Hunter is tearing and slashing, clawing and hacking. Fucking hell, this is painful. I try and fight back when I feel the weight get pushed off my body and the guy helps me into the safe room. He rebolts the door behind him.
‘Christ, are you okay?’ he asks. I scowl.
DO I FUCKING LOOK OKAY TO YOU, PUNK!?’ I scream. He recoils slightly. I sigh.
‘Please, stop gawking at me and give my bloody, shredded stomach some medical attention.’ I grunt, and he jumps into action, pulling out a med-kit and starts tending to me.
‘I’m Noah, by the way.’ He says, wrapping a bandage around my abdomen.
‘Good to know. Thanks for saving me.’

So, my next post will probably be the next actual part of the story. There is your treat.

Another note is, losing friends is hard at the time, but much worse when you remember what it was like to be friends. So, I must say that I love you all, all in different ways, but all very, very, very much. You all mean the world to me, and I think of you guys as a an extra, better family to me. I seem to have a lot of families, and most of them aren't biological (duh). I have my Blogland family, my Elective Music class family (DODODODODODODODO), my Elective History family (Terrorism, ftw), my Skating family (yes Zoe, I was sitting there) and my small circle of friends (SAMUEL- Look what the door dragged in!!!- Does anyone want this?- PITCH BLACK- Because Supermarket!- Don't DO that!!!). Sorry for the inside jokes. They were completely necessary, yes. Anyway, the point is that I have missed you guys and your antics very much. I look forward to being back, first thing tomorrow after school. Also... IF I EVER GET THAT MANY E-MAILS IN MY INBOX EVER AGAIN, PEOPLE  WILL BE PUNISHED. Prolonged expulsion from my treehouse. *nods* You must feel so threatened.

Uh... Uhhhhh....

Oh yeah! I will be away, on a cruise from the 18th to the 28th, but I have already organised to have a measly half hour in the Internet cafe on Christmas day. In the mean time, I shall be avoiding swimming at all costs- but that may be a little difficult, seeing as it's a tropical cruise. Who knows, I may meet someone who's into SP. That'd make my holiday. Or L4D. Or... Y'know, anything I'm overly interested in. It'd be nice to have someone to talk to about Victorious (I know, Rim, I know), but the chances of THAT are low.

Another video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kYEK-pxs_A

I love those guys. They make me grin. It's.. Unhelpable? *shrugs* Sounds right.

So, my school day today has been as follows: Party, Party with crying, Recess with chocolate and Kris Kringle (Got the most epic notebook EVER), Science with laptops and very little paying attention- So much so that at one point the teacher asked if we were paying attention. No one was. Music party with Melody Pops and making Year Advisors AND Music teachers cry, House Music Drama rehearsal with people from other houses (I don't know why she was there either), Lunch with no actual food, Party with MORE tears, and Maths with a sub, drawing and talking to Echo.

All in all, my day ROCKED. I stole someone's M&M's (those ones I was throwing at people; not her, I swear cross my heart), and... And.....................

Argh. There was other stuff.

Oh yeah.

Wait, no....

*hums*

I need some more stuff before the next video I put up! Nooooo! Uhh... Uhhhh!! OH! I KNOW! That SP fanfic I was writing AGES ago? With all of us older and Lynxia had to kill me and things?? I'm gonna keep writing it! And I'm gonna continue New World, I promise. And, I'll have pictures from my holiday, and......... Ummmm...

I had my last Writer's Club meeting for the year last Friday. Our challenge was to write 1000 words over the holidays. There were a few Y7's going "I'm gonna freak out on the last day how will I do it???" and then there's me and my writing buddy looking at each other going "Only 1000? Really? I mean, really. We could write more than that in a solid hour of typing. Really?" It was quite funny, really.

... That's enough for another video, right?

I think it is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTWNpTSyC3Q

That, I could not help. She's just such a spectacular singer. Look at her other stuff. It's awesome.

And...

Yeah, I think that's it. Talk to you guys tomorrow!

WAIT.

I REMEMBER NOW.

1. You guys rock.
2. Life is crazy awesome.
3. I will be filming as much of my holiday as possible, and I'll be posting it here.
4. My trombone is soooooo heavy.
5. I ate too many M&M's today.
6. I've had ONE Maths lesson in the past two weeks.
7. Emma, Jade, Zoe, Alcina, Louise, Rachel, Lizzie, Karyn, Sophie, Yuka, Harriet, Courtney, Izzy, Ang, Jordan, Miles, Eve, Sam, Fi, Eternity, Rim, Beck and Annie- You are really as epic as people get. I could give speech after speech after speech after speech with praise after praise after pointless praise, because words cannot describe how much you guys mean to me, and how much I'd do for you. And an extra bundle of hugs and such to Jordan, Miles, Zoe, Rim, Emma and Sophie for listening to me rant, swear, complain, shout, cry- and support me anyway. You guys really are the best. Never, ever forget it.

Okay, last thing...

Okay, so I lied a little with the title of the blog post. A little.

Merry Christmas, guys!

Friday 30 November 2012

Titles Are Hard.

Okay, so, remember how I said that I wouldn't be completing the L4D fanfiction last week? Well, I was just looking through my laptops documents (There are waaaaaay too many duplicates in there...) and seeing all of the stuff that I wrote for the story but never got to publish is making me a little sad. So, this post is a question.

If I were to type up a basic explanation of the plot with the written bits stuck in, would anyone actually read it?

PLEASE COMMENT.

As promised.

Okay, okay, it's here. Um, I would like someone to note that I have indeed become forty times dorkier.

This fan fiction is a Victorious Harry Potter cross-over. I started writing it early yesterday, and it's just over seven pages long.

But, at least I'm writing again...?

So, without further ado....

Cat Valentine skipped onto Platform 9¾ followed closely by her best friend, Jade West. They were 11-years-old, and heading to their first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Cat was babbling non-stop to Jade, who was pushing a trolley that had both of their supplies stacked precariously on top of it.

‘Jade!’ Cat yelled across the platform, trying to get the attention of the dark-haired girl. Jade didn’t look around, which made Cat pout, but Cat shrugged it off and weaved through the crowd over to her friend.
‘Jadey, did you miss me?’ Cat said, tapping Jade’s shoulder. Jade turned around and Cat grinned at her. ‘I love your hair! Blue highlights! That’s so cool! It looks great! How were your holidays?’ Cat said, the words spilling out of her mouth.
‘What are you doing?’ Jade scowled. Cat frowned.
‘Just trying to catch up with my best friend, that’s all.’ Cat said, confused. Jade arched an eyebrow.
‘We aren’t friends.’ Jade said. She turned around and walked away, and Cat soon lost sight of her on the busy train station. Cat blinked several times, reviewing the exchange. Jade couldn’t mean that, they’d been best friends longer than they’d been going to Hogwarts. And as they were headed into their fifth year, that wasn’t a lightly made comment. Cat was about to look for her again when Andre, one of her closer friends, bumped into her.
‘Hey Little Red!’ he smiled, clapping his hands. He was in Gryffindor along with Cat, while Jade was in Ravenclaw.
‘Hi Andre! Did you ever notice that Gryffindor sounds like Griffen, Ravenclaw sounds like Raven, Slytherin sounds like snake, but Hufflepuff doesn’t sound like Honey Badger?’ Cat wondered. Andre laughed, grimaced and then smiled again.
‘Ah, no Cat, that never occurred to me before. Where’s your stuff? We should be heading onto the train soon.’
‘Oh yeah! Will you get me candy?’
‘Depends if we get on the train at all, but sure.’
‘Yay! I love candy!’

Cat virtually dragged Jade onto the train and bounced around in the narrow corridor that spanned the train car. Jade sighed and pulled one of the sliding doors open into a booth and scowled when she saw that people were already inside. Cat sat down and introduced herself and Jade, and the other students, who were all also in their first year, introduced themselves in return. Jade begrudgingly sat down with the people who she assumed would be the closest thing to her friends for the next nine months, Tori Vega, Robbie Shapiro, Andre Harris and Beck Oliver.

'Are you alright, Cat? You haven't said anything in ages!' Tori said. After Andre and Cat had met up, they had found Robbie trying to break away from his overbearing mother. Robbie used them as an excuse to get on the train, which they did, and found Tori and Beck already in one of the compartments.
'Huh? What?' Cat said, snapping out of her daydream.
'Cat, what's wrong?' Tori asked again.
'Nothing!' Cat chimed. 'Can I have a pumpkin pasty?'
'Sure thing.' Robbie said, handing her one. Cat smiled and resumed looking out the window of the Hogwarts Express, watching the English countryside whip by. She was still contemplating her encounter with Jade. Not friends? When did that happen? Beck's voice disrupted her thoughts.
'Hey, has anyone seen Jade?'
'I saw her, but I couldn't catch her.' Andre replied.
'What was she doing?' Beck asked.
'Talkin' to Cat.' Andre said. 'Ain't that right?' He said, ruffling Cat's hair. Cat giggled and nodded.
'Did she say where she was going?'
'Nope.' Cat said, not wanting to reveal what had been said during the short exchange.
'Well... I'm going to look for her. Come with?' He said, looking at Robbie. He stood up.
'We'll be back soon.' Beck said, and they left the compartment. Just as they stepped out into the hallway Trina, Tori's older sister, crashed into them.
'Hey! Watch where you’re going!' Trina yelled. She kept running. Robbie sighed and started walking in the other direction. Cat heard the end of his sentence.
'As far away from her as possible.' Cat didn't blame Robbie for saying this. Everyone thought that Trina was horrible. Andre cleared his throat, leaning forward.
'I think it's about time we got into our robes, don't you?' He said.
'Good idea!' Cat said, perking up.
Let's do it.' Tori stood.

As it grew darker, the group of first years decided that they should probably get changed into their school robes. Because none of them knew what houses they were in yet, all of the trim on their uniform was black, but there was an enchantment over then so they would change colour as soon as they were sorted into their school house. It had been a relatively new idea in the magical world at the time. They all wore the uniform immaculately, except for Jade, who didn’t tuck her shirt in and left its top button undone.

Andre, Cat and Tori re-entered their compartment and saw Robbie and Beck, in their robes chatting.
‘Find Jade?’ Tori asked, sitting down next to Beck. He shook his head. Cat sat down next to Robbie and Andre sat next to her. They were about ten minutes out of Hogsmeade, and all talking about the feast. Robbie was going on about the soup they had when the train stopped.
‘Let’s go!’ Andre said, more than eager for an excuse to get Robbie to be quiet. They tumbled out of the train and took a moment to observe the first years get lead away, bewildered.
‘Is it just me or do they get smaller every year?’ Cat asked to no one. The others laughed and they walked over to the carriages that would take them to the castle. They walked in and split off to their house tables, Robbie and Tori moved off to the Hufflepuff table, Beck went looking for Jade again at the Ravenclaw table and Andre and Cat sat at the Gryffindor one. They looked up at the professor’s table and became silent when Minerva McGonagall stood at the lectern. Only two years after siege upon Hogwarts Cat remembered being evacuated from the castle very clearly.
‘We shall now commence the sorting.’ She put the Sorting Hat onto a tall stool and the first years were lead into the Great Hall. The Sorting Hat sang its song, but Cat wasn’t paying attention, instead she was watching the cloud roll across the fake sky in the chamber. When the song was finished, McGonagall pulled out a scroll and held the Sorting Hat up once more. She announced the first name on the list.

‘Harris, Andre.’ The stony-faced woman, Professor Minerva McGonagall, read out. Andre looked around at his new companions, shrugged and walked up the stone steps and sat on the stool. He was the first of the circle to be called up. McGonagall placed the hat on his head and after a few seconds, it screamed out, ‘GRYFFINDOR!’, which was followed by a cry from the Gryffindor house table. His tie changed from plain black to red and gold, and the trim of his robes and jumper turned red. Andre smiled and hopped off the stool and grinned as he sat down next to one of the other first years.

They had just reached the Bs, and Cat gaze had already started to wander. She glanced over at the Ravenclaw table and searched for Beck and Jade. They were sitting next to each other, Jade scowling, as usual, and Beck looking uneasy. Cat thought to the previous year’s Sorting Ceremony, where Beck’s arm would’ve been around Jade’s waist, he would’ve been smiling, and Jade would’ve been less tense. A frown crept onto her face, but her train of thought was disrupted when the Sorting Hat yelled ‘GRYFFINDOR!’ in its usual fashion, and everyone around her cheered. She had to join in.

‘Oliver, Beckett.’
Beckett?’ Jade questioned dryly. Cat nudged her.
‘Be nice.’ She hissed. Beck stepped forward, rubbing the back of his neck. He sat on the stool and the hat yelled, ‘RAVENCLAW!’ almost immediately. He smiled as his tie turned blue and bronze and stepped off the stool. He sat at the Ravenclaw table with a small space beside him in case another first year would come.

Now onto the Gs, Andre was not paying attention either. Andre was making small signals to Beck, and the two boys were communicating across the hall very carefully. From what Andre could gather, something was wrong with Jade, but she refused to say what it was. Either that or what she had said was far to complicated for Beck to convey at that distance. Beck was frowning. Frowning at Jade, frowning at Cat and frowning at Andre. Jade was fully aware of the conversation the boys were trying to have, and when the next house was announced, amidst the cheering of the Hufflepuff table, Jade elbowed Beck.
‘What?’ he said quietly.
‘Stop talking to Andre.’
‘But, he’s all the way over-‘
‘You know what I mean. Stop it.’

‘Shapiro, Robert.’ Robbie flinched and looked up at the stool. Jade sighed and pushed him forward, making him stumble slightly. Tori frowned at her, but she only rolled her eyes. ‘HUFFLEPUFF!’ Robbie scampered over to the table.
‘Figures.’ Jade smirked.
‘Jade, be nice!’ Cat hissed again.

Robbie was sitting all the way over at the Hufflepuff table, watching Beck and Andre signal to each other, Jade and Beck scowl at each other, and Cat scanning at the ceiling like it was the most fascinating thing the world. He sighed and glanced at Tori, who was next to him. She was possibly the only person in the gang that was actually paying attention to the ceremony, but if you were bothered to carefully trace where her eyes were looking, you would notice that she was, in fact, gazing at Jason Sikowitz, another fifth year student in Gryffindor.

‘Valentine, Caterina.’ McGonagall read. Cat squeaked and groaned at the same time. Jade noticed she wasn’t mobbing and lent down slightly so she could speak into Cat’s ear.
‘Calm down. It’ll be fine. Go.’ Jade whispered. Cat stepped forward and climbed onto the stool. The hat fell down below her eyes and she squeaked nervously again as her vision was obscured.
‘Oh, a dreamer, are you? I could easily put you in Hufflepuff…’ she heard the Sorting hat say. Cat gripped her robes slightly tighter, recalling Jade’s harsh reaction to Robbie being put in Gryffindor. ‘You don’t want to be in Hufflepuff? Are you sure?’
‘YES!’ Cat thought with all her might.
‘Well in that case… GRYFFINDOR!’ The hat was lifted from Cat’s head and she bounced down the steps and sat next to Andre.

‘Why are there so many kids starting with ‘p’?’ Cat thought to herself. This had to be at least the twentieth student whose last name began with p, Cat reckoned. She looked around the Great Hall and she found herself looking at Jade, who was looking at her. Jade looked away quickly, scowling darkly. Cat tilted her head to the side and looked at the table sullenly.

‘Vega, Victoria.’ Tori stepped forward and sat down on the stool. The Sorting Hat was placed on her head and about a minute later it yelled, ‘HUFFLEPUFF!’ She grinned and jumped down, sitting with Robbie. Jade rolled her eyes.

After silencing Beck, Jade returned to watching the Sorting Ceremony. Her face was settled into its normal scowl. When a child was sorted into Ravenclaw, she never cheered as the rest of her house did, but she did smile. Which was why, two tables away, every time the sorting hat yelled Ravenclaw, Cat would sneak a glance at Jade, to see her smile. Jade was not completely oblivious to this, but she saw no harm in the innocent red-head watching her smile. Jade thought of what she had told Cat that morning and nearly grimaced, but not quite. Jade hadn't really meant what she had said, but she had deliberated over her friendship with Cat for a long time. Jade knew she could've handled that morning better, but what's done is done, and Jade can't change that. She smiled as the hat yelled Ravenclaw again.

'West, Jadelyn.' Jade gritted her teeth and growled under her breath at the use of her full name. She walked up the steps and sat on the stool, trying her best not to scowl at the school. She felt the hat sink onto her head and was glad it stopped just above her eyes.
'Jade, Jade, you're a hard read. Where do I put you? You might want to get comfy, this'll take a while.' Jade groaned inwardly and crossed one leg over the other and folded her arms. This caused a small ripple of discomfort to float through the hall. Jade's eyes found Cat's, which were wide with worry. Jade smiled reassuringly, the looked right ahead and scowled.
'You're very tough, very mean. No one crosses Jade West, interesting...'
'You couldn't speed this up a bit, could you?' Jade thought back.
'I wouldn't want to put you weren't you didn't belong, would I? Now, you certainly have it in you for Slytherin, no doubt about- Oh, you don't WANT to be in Slytherin? Why ever not?' The hat asked. Jade's eyes flicked to Cat and then straight ahead again.
'Ohhhh. Your best friend? Or something more?' Jade's jaw set and the hat sighed. 'If you say so... But this undying loyalty. Maybe you belong in Hufflepuff... Oh, no need for the language Jadelyn.'
'I swear, call me that again and they'll be using you for arts and crafts.' Jade thought, growling.
'Oh Jade, you mustn’t be so feisty with those scissors. So, not Hufflepuff, and not Slytherin. Gryffindor? I think not. You're too grizzly. No, no, I know where you fit... RAVENCLAW!'

The sorting was finally over, and now it was time for McGonagall's speech. Jade, for the most part, ignored it. They only thing that she payed attention to was the announcement of the new Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher.
'Professor Erwin Sikowitz.' Jade sat up slightly. Wasn't there a Gryff named Sikowitz? Cat, on the other hand, could barely contain her excitement. Jason was across and two people down from her.
'Jason, you never mentioned that your uncle teaches!' She exclaimed quietly.
'I didn't find out until this morning, when my parents told me Erwin would be taking me to the train station. This year is going to be horrible...'
'Don't think that, Jason! How will anyone be able to tell you're related?'
'Cat, Sikowitz is not a common name.'
'Sure it is! I know of, like, two people with it!'
'Let me guess, me and my uncle...' Jason groaned.
'Oh my Merlin, how did you know!?'

Cat and Andre watched as the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, gave his speech. He finished and the tables were suddenly covered with food. Cat squealed with delight and started to eat, occasionally sharing a glance with Jade. Both girls were disappointed that they had been sorted into different houses, but they wouldn’t let that halt their friendship. Not even magic could do that.

The feast commenced and was over soon. Andre and Cat made their way up to the Gryffindor common room and sat in front of the fire. Andre could see that Cat was sad, so he dashed to his dorm room and got his guitar out. He ran back down and sat in front of Cat on the carpet.
‘Alright Little Red, what do you want me to play?’ Cat shrugged. Andre nodded.
‘C’mon red, you must want to hear something.’ Cat shook her head. Andre frowned and thought. He was going through his personal playlist in his head, looking for an appropriate song.
‘I know.’ He said, and started playing his guitar. He had picked ‘Home’ by Phillip Phillips. He began to sing, and eventually Cat joined in. Some of the students around them watched and tapped their feet to the music. Some of the first years watched in awe as Andre and Cat sang. Their voices worked perfectly together and when Andre played the final chord there were a cheer. Cat smiled at Andre and forgot her troubles of the morning.
‘Let’s sing Song 2 You now!’ Cat exclaimed. Andre grinned and he started to play. He had succeeded to make Cat happy, which was good.

The next morning Cat and Andre walked down to the Great Hall together and Beck pulled Andre over. Cat sat down and started to eat, while chatting to Jason.
‘What’s the deal with Jade?’ Andre asked.
‘She says she’s fine, but I know better. I think it’s to do with Cat. But-‘ Beck stopped as Jade walked past, scowling.
‘What do you have first?’ Beck asked.
‘Defense Against The Dark Arts.’ Andre replied.
‘Me too, see you there.’

Jade was walking down on of the many staircases to her first class, Transfiguration, when a sea of first year Hufflepuffs came up the stairs. She snarled when she realized that none of them knew who she was, not even able to match her face with 'stay away.' She struggled to the intersection and an especially boisterous boy crashed into her, sending her books flying. Before gathering her stuff she reached out and grabbed the back of the foolish boy's robes, managing to get a solid grip on the back of his shirt. She dragged him out of the current of students and placed him on a staircase that was joined up to the platform they were standing on. She pushed him a few steps up.
'3... 2... 1.' The staircase the lone boy was standing on swung around and joined him to a platform that was two floors down from where the rest of his class was. She smirked and turned around. The first years were staring at her. She bent down and picked her books up and when she straightened she found them still staring. She sighed.
'And that, kids, is why you stay out of my way in the halls.' She said, 'Tell your friends.' She added, continuing down the steps.
